LE Department and Agency Services

Pathfinder Defense is always looking for police trade ins. Will pay top dollar for Un-used; Old; Surplus department weapons (including semi autos, machine guns, silencers); Confiscated; Surrendered; Crime firearms.

Most police agencies do not want to be in the position of gun dealer in marketing and selling their surplus firearms. I am not a broker and act as principal in every transaction resulting in fast quotes and payments.

Pathfinder Defense can ensure that the firearms enter legal channels and guarantees that your agency is free of liability from possessing old and worn weapons in inventory as well as alleviates the fears that the weapons will fall into unqualified hands.

Pathfinder Defense also offers trade up, Trade in your old stuff toward new stuff. We'll simply work out a trade of your old gear, guns, or confiscated property towards the acquisition of your brand-new guns/ gear. More often than not, we can set you up with new guns at no cost to the department whatsoever. Give us your list of your old guns and gear, and your wish list of new stuff.

NFA Items

Since October 9, 2026, suppressors, short-barreled rifles and shotguns, and AOWs transfer on a Form 4473 with a background check, like any other firearm. ATF no longer requires a Form 4 or NFA registration for them (ATF's open letter). Machine guns and destructive devices still go through the full NFA process.

For machine guns, destructive devices (including Form 1 builds), and anyone who wants a suppressor, SBR, SBS or AOW registered anyway (ATF still accepts Forms 1, 3 and 4 for them, and some states allow them only when registered), we will create a digital profile and an ATF eForms account for you. We will build your profile with your pedigree information and or trust information. We use digital FBI format .eft fingerprint files and digital images. Setup time is 30 minutes and after that it is only a matter of minutes to file the forms. We provide your pictures and .eft files free of charge after set up for form 1's. All of this leads to on average shorter wait times than the industry standards. Some customers reporting wait times of only 1 day. All data is stored locally and encrypted.

Wyoming residents can pick up suppressors, SBRs, SBSs and AOWs here in Powell on a Form 4473 with a background check.

We will ship your suppressor, SBR, SBS or AOW to a dealer in your state with an FFL and a current SOT (Special Occupational Tax); ask them first. After your order is placed, ask your dealer to email us a signed copy of their FFL and proof of their current SOT. Your dealer does the Form 4473 and background check, and may charge their own transfer fee. State and local laws still apply. In states whose laws tie these items to ATF registration, to be safe the item goes to your dealer on a tax-free ATF Form 3 first and ships once ATF approves it. Your dealer then files an ATF Form 4 to register it to you; the Form 4 needs your fingerprints and a photo, and you take the item home once ATF approves it. Ask your dealer first whether they will do the Form 4. Each item's page lists those states. Before you take a short-barreled rifle or shotgun to another state, ATF still asks you to file a Form 20.
